The data was measured according to the new WLTP standard. To keep the vehicles‘ comparability of this data with the previous measurement methodology NEFZ, this data is correlated reckoned back to NEFZ data standards due to the statutory provisions.

In addition to the fuel efficiency of a car, driving behaviour as well as other non-technical factors play a role in determining a car's fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions. CO₂ is the main greenhouse gas responsible for global warming. A guide on fuel economy and CO₂ emissions which contains data for all new passenger car models available for purchase in Germany is available free of charge at any point of sale in Germany (or at DAT GmbH, Ostfildern as well as (https://www.dat.de/co2) where new passenger car models are presented or offered for sale.

Information on fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions were determined according to the mandatory measurement procedure regulation (EC) 715/2007 (for gasoline and diesel powered vehicles) as well as NEDC (New European Driving Cycle) ECE R 101 (for vehicles powered by an electric motor and hybrid vehicles) in consideration of the unladen weight determined in accordance with this regulation. Extra equipment, weather conditions and driving behaviour may result in higher fuel consumption and CO₂ emissions than indicated.
