In January 2014，Foton Motor Company acquired BORGWARD’s 100% shares and assets through its affiliate company, and became the owner of the brand BORGWARD.

In March 2019, UCAR Inc. acquired BORGWARD’s 67% shares through its affiliate company, and committed to creating a new retail model for automobiles.
