Measuring 4.48 metres in length and with a wheelbase of 2.68 metres, the BORGWARD BX5 is targeted at the booming segment for mid-size SUVs. Like its larger stablemate, the BX7, it is a prototype approaching the series-production stage and features equipment based largely on mass-production technology as well as a plug-in hybrid (PIH) drive system. The BX5 embodies classic SUV qualities such as versatility, spaciousness, comfort and off-road capability. Further persuasive arguments in favour of this multitalented AWD include impressively low CO2 emissions and outstanding fuel consumption—thanks to its pioneering plug-in hybrid drive system—an attractive performance on the road and the comprehensive safety concept PROTECT.
